GOLKAR Party politician Azis Syamsudin has been identifi ed as the man behind Muhammad Nazaruddin in winning the half-trillion-rupiah project tendered by the Attorney General’s Office. Nazar needed Azis to help get the AGO budget past the DPR. Azis’s role is clearly recorded in Nazar’s company accounts, now in the hands of the KPK. The Golkar politician is suspected of being the ‘gatekeeper’ to members of the DPR’s Law Commission and the Budget Committee. Yet another revelation of the depth and breadth of collusion between some government offi cials, legislators and businessmen.
