THE growth of new innovations in Indonesia to understanding Islamic teachings is a positive and welcome development. There is nothing wrong with this, even if some of the methods give the impression of offering a shortcut or being packaged in an attractive way. However, these Islamic teachers should be warned not to be excessive in commercializing religion. Don’t make money the main objective, to the extent of forgetting oneself and the community on account of raking in wealth from a religious propagation money machine. Tempo reports on the phenomenon.
