THE police have traced the activities of Pepi Fernando and dismantled his network, whose members planted bombs in places like the Serpong gas pipes and sent book bombs to several targeted people. Pepi, a graduate of an Islamic state university and identifi ed as the mastermind of a number of bombings, learnt how to assemble bombs from the internet. He represents the third generation of terrorists in Indonesia. He recruits and trains youths willing to become suicide bombers.
