A Packetful Of Promises: Reforms go nowhere as the Government face criticism from businesses and rejection by bureaucrats over its new economic policies
One dozen economic policy packages have been incapable of recharging the sluggish economy. Despite all the deregulations, the Indonesian economy still faces the same chronic problems. Flawed policies and a lack of coordination among ministries and agencies seem to be the main impediments. The government has also admitted that it failed to draft a blueprint.
