OFFICIALLY, Gayus H. Tambunan is being detained as a suspect in a tax bribery case, yet he has been able to travel overseas at his leisure. This is the latest phase in the tax mafi a scandal. At the latest count, he has left his cell 68 times since his incarceration at the Mobile Police jail in Kelapa Dua, in March last year. After his Bali trip was exposed, Gayus was found to have travelled to Malaysia, Singapore and Macau. By calling himself Sony Laksono in his fake passport, he fl ew out of Jakarta, to gamble in Macau, according to the police. This time his trip was aided by a network of fake passport producers, after paying a cool Rp900 million! Where does his wife feature in all this?
