KPK Inaction
ATTACKED left and right, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) seems to have lost its bite. The organization that should be the strongest is now weak, the big cases in the commission’s hands are now scattered and seemingly neglected. It all began with the arrest of Antasari, the KPK head who was charged with engineering a murder. The KPK was stunned. The four remaining leaders seem to no longer be united. They appear to be killing time, until their terms end next year. Yet the four men are the main determinants of the major cases in the KPK. Tragically, a number of KPK key people have also resigned, looking for new jobs. What happened to this once strong institution?
