Berlinale, Edwin, and Ragunan
Postcards from the Zoo, a production of young Indonesian director Edwin, was selected to compete at the Berlin Film Festival (Berlinale), the largest film festival after the Oscars and Cannes. Post cards from the zoo competed with 17 other films from around the world. Although it failed to get the Golden Bear, the highest award in the Berlinale, the film attracted wide media and buyers’ attention. shot partly at the Ragunan Zoo in Jakarta, EDwin’s film is an allegorical story of what happens when a society undergoes rapid changes. other Indonesian and asian films also participated in the Berlinale.
