The death of Seaman Arifin Siri as a result of a violent attack by members of a motorcycle gang on March 31, triggered a series of brutal assaults that may have been carried out in revenge. Hundreds of bikers described as big, tough and carrying traditional swords, sharpened bamboo poles and hatchets, drove around in a convoy seeking bikers at sites where illegal races take place.
