Weapons of Mass Corruption
THE arms industry and military equipment business became news again following the enactment of the Defense Industry Law at the start of October. One consequence of this legislation is that brokers and agents will find it difficult to play a role in the procurement of primary defense systems products. The new law requires the TNI (military) and the police to acquire domestically made weapons and to reduce reliance on imported arms, which used to involve major arms dealers and brokers.
