Economic Outlook 2016
INDONESIA’S economic slowdown in 2015 can be attributed to plummeting commodity prices and the plunging value of the rupiah. Yet the outlook for next year will remain cloudly, given the uncertain conditions of the global economy, as in China, Indonesia’s biggest trade partner and the US, where the Federal Reserve still mulls over increasing its interest rates. Indonesia would do best to continue developing its domestic economy, one economic policy package after another, as it prepares to compete in the newly-launched ASEAN Economic Community.
