Akbar Tandjung's appeal seems likely to be granted by the Supreme Court—it is believed he will be exonerated on grounds he simply carried out the president's order. He is also predicted to be the winner in the Golkar Party convention. Whatever the verdict handed down, there will be much maneuvering and significant changes within Golkar and on the national political stage—not to mention public outrage at the slap in the face of people's sense of justice.
