Defending Corrupt Party Politicians?
POLITICAL solidarity in corruption cases involving party members is misplaced solidarity. Taken further, it could be seen as obstructing law enforcement. On the other hand, parties whose members stand accused of corruption feel their cases have been politicized. Public exposure of the cases is seen as an effort to create problems for one party by a rival party that happens to be in power. A legal problem has now become a political problem. Why are these parties so stridently defending their troubled members? What are the scenarios to save their troubled cadres?
