A COMMANDER of East Timorese pro-Jakarta militia, Olivio Mendoza Moruk, was found killed shortly after he was named a suspect of human rights violation by the Attorney General's Office. What ensued was a tragedy. Thousands of weapon-wielding mobs ran amok in the West Timorese town of Atambua and killed three foreign staff members of the UNHCR. The world condemned this incident. Another case of provocation to further damage Indonesia's image.
