At the end of April, the Indonesian Government agreed to purchase sophisticated Russian military equipment: four Sukhoi—two Su-27SK, and two Su-30MK—fighter planes and also two Mi-35 helicopters. All are scheduled to arrive in September. But there is something unclear about the purchase. Some senior officials claim to know nothing about the US$193-million transaction. Moreover, the purchase is not included in this year\'s proposed budget to Bappenas. Will this become the \'Sukhoigate\' scandal?
