IN the midst of a get-together among members of the Golkar Party in West Jakarta last Thursday, Golkar Chairman Akbar Tandjung seemed to be cool and confident. There were no signs of nervousness despite the challenge from three people—Wiranto, Marwah Daud Ibrahim and Surya Paloh—in the contest for the party chairmanship, set to take place at its national convention in Bali.
