THREE Bakrie Group companies are suspected of paying US$7 million or an equivalent of Rp65 billion through Gayus Halomoan Tambunan to “take care” of their tax problems. Gayus, now a corruption and money-laundering suspect, distributed the money to a number of tax officials. Gayus exposed this tax scandal to the police questioning him throughout last April. So far, no one has been indicted for this felony, other than Gayus.
