WHY can’t the Justice & Prosperity Party (PKS) keep its politicians in line? Making the news this time is the credit fraud in the West Java & Banten Bank (BJB), which happens to be mostly owned by West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan, a staunch PKS member. On the surface, the loans extended to two companies, Cipta Inti Pramindo and Alpindo Mitra Baja, owned by PKS sympathizer Ayep Zaki, seem problem-free. But the central bank found irregularities in the administration of the transaction. Did the governor, who is running for reelection, exert undue infl uence in facilitating the loan?
