Interference
IT is no surprise that the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) appears to be toothless. It’s been sabotaged right from the start. Its members are suspected of being extensions of television station owners and political party leaders, arming themselves for the legislative and presidential ‘battle’ in the coming months. This explains why the commission members seem blind to the proliferating political ads on television, a clear violation of the rules and ethics of broadcasting. Is
there collusion between the broadcast regulators and television station owners?
