Although more than a few legislators have gone to jail or face prison sentences, there is no need for cynicism towards politics and politicians. Eleven people running for parliamentary seats have passed multiple tests to be classified as very electable candidates, who range from anticorruption activists to clerics fighting for religious freedom. They share similar backgrounds, like their dedication to the betterment of the people and the nation.
