Upping The Ante Lowering The Anti Peace Offerings Police Comr. Gen. Badrodin Haiti has emerged as the new nominee for police chief, replacing the controversial Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan, who was indicted for corruption by the KPK a day after his nomination. President Jokowi may have eased tensions with these moves, but his problems are far from over as legislators—including from his own party— threaten to invoke interpellation in the DPR, the fi rst step towards impeachment. While all his coalition parties now support Jokowi, the exception is PDI-P chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri, who reportedly remains angry at his recent actions.
