The Bridge to Ancestral Traditions
Indonesians of Indian heritage have been in the country since the 1800s. They preserve their ties to their ancestral homeland in many ways. It might be opening an Indian department store, an authentic Indian restaurant, preserving spiritual roots, or buying saris made in India. Acculturalization has taken place. Yoga and meditation are not just carried out by Indians, and music in Indonesia defi nitely has an Indian influence.
