REPORTS of pulling and pushing in the making of president-elect Jokowi’s cabinet have gone viral. Among the recommendations is to eliminate or merge ministries or form brand-new ones. The transition team gave Jokowi five options including remaking a leaner cabinet. But Jusuf Kalla disagrees with the policy to make the cabinet leaner and possibly meaner, although Jokowi favors this option. Will he need to make compromises for the sake of peace and harmony?
