Anger In Abepura
PROTESTS in Papua deteriorated into a riot. Four policemen died in the tragedy. The incident in Abepura was the continuation of a series of protests demanding the closure of giant copper and gold mining company PT Freeport Indonesia, which began a month ago. Who was behind the riot? Was it simply Papuan people's anger toward Freeport? Or does it have something to do with the recent election of Papuan regional heads?
