THE fl oating and regasifi cation terminal project at Jakarta Bay has been delayed for six months. The plan of state-run electricity company PLN to save on fuel has totally failed. PLN is losing money because the planned gas supply was intended to operate power generators at Muara Karang and Tanjung Priok in Jakarta. Golar, the company which won the bid to build this project, was penalized lightly for this costly delay. Now the government must once again bear the trillions of rupiah to subsidize the fuel to generate electricity.
