WHETHER riding a horse for days through the dense Sulawesi forests, hiking kilometers through the mountains of Aceh, or crossing the dry rivers of Toraja, for 15 years one young woman has been working selflessly to provide cheap electricity for the rural poor. At the end of 2006, Tempo nominates Tri Mumpuni to top our list of "10 who changed Indonesia." Apart from Puni, there are nine other young people no less deserving of inclusion. We profile their achievements and contributions to Indonesia in this, our year-end special edition, and look forward to 2007 with spirits lifted.
