POLICE arrested nine alleged Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) figures in Jakarta and Central Java. Found with them were arms and ammunition, and a great deal of explosives materials. According to the police, these JI figures planned to assassinate several leading figures of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) and other figures such as businessman Ciputra. But did those arrested really plan such dastardly deeds?
