POLICE officers were very busy last Friday at Alexander Downer's office in the Australian Federal Parliament building in Canberra. The staff had received an envelope containing suspicious powder. A similar package had found its way two days earlier to the Indonesian embassy. Initial suspicion was that it contained anthrax. Downer himself was calm; he had not come directly in contact with the stuff. What made him hot under the collar was how the Indonesian embassy had been terrorized. While there is still no proof, he suspects that the acts were related to Schapelle Corby, the young Australian woman recently convicted of smuggling marijuana and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment, by a court in Denpasar, Bali.
