THE suspended head of the Crime Investigation Unit, Police Commissioner-General Susno Duadji, has been under surveillance since March. Having previously been commended for cracking down on thugs, Susno now faces censure over a questionable Bank Century money disbursement deal worth US$18 million and the criminalization of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), specifically KPK deputies Bibit Samad Rianto and Chandra M. Hamzah, on charges of extortion and abuse of power. He has repeatedly denied charges yet has made inconsistent statements.
