CHASAN Sochib’s close associates occupy important positions in the administration of Banten province. The governorship, regent and deputy regent positions, mayoralties and membership of the Banten Regional House of Representatives are all fi lled by his family members. Their collective wealth has been invested everywhere, from real estate to luxury cars. Some suspect, however, that this wealth may have come from illicit sources. Tempo obtained information on the credit card transactions of Ratu Atut Chosiyah, the current governor of Banten. This eldest child from Chasan’s fi rst wife, has been using her credit card to purchase all kinds of luxury goods when she travels overseas. There is also a suspicious transaction in the account of Tubagus Chaeri alias Wawan, Atut’s younger brother, who is currently in jail on charges of bribing disgraced former Constitutional Court Chief Justice Akil Mochtar.
