UNLIKE previous years, when we usually present special fi gures, in this Special Independence Day Edition we present the nine regions we selected as stars of regional autonomy.      While the City of Solo is the most conducive for small vendors, the Regency of Purbalingga provides access to foodstuffs for poor residents, the City of Yogyakarta gives fast and affordable healthcare services, and the Regency of Musi Banyuasin provides free education from the elementary school to university levels. Then there are the City of Bau-Bau, Regency of Kebumen, City of Blitar, Regency of Lebak, and the Regency of Jember.      These achievements, despite some shortcomings, increasingly convince us that Indonesia is truly moving in the right direction.
